Botox® Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic is the most popular cosmetic procedure in Miami because treatment time is incredibly brief, there is no recovery period, and the dramatic effects are long lasting. In the greater Miami area, Aventura Cosmetic Surgery Center is conveniently located near the Aventura Mall and offers BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments that will fit into your busy schedule.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein derived from Clostridium botulinum bacterium. Through minor, gentle injections into the facial muscles, BOTOX® Cosmetic relaxes the treated muscle to decrease the lines, creases and furrows of the frown lines, forehead and outer eyelids ("crows feet").

Dr. Ellenby will create a treatment plan (the area of treatment and number of injections) based on your muscle movement and consequent wrinkles, and provides touch ups as needed at no cost.

BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment takes less than ten minutes. No preparation, anesthesia, or pain medication is necessary for treatment, and there is no need for recovery time.

You will see the significant effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic in 2-3 days after treatment. Results may vary, but most people enjoy the treatment's effects for up to 4-6 months. In some cases, patients report longer lasting results with each subsequent treatments.

A good candidate for Botox treatments is anyone who wants to smooth out dynamic wrinkles typically found around the eyes, frown lines and on the forehead. BOTOX® Cosmetic also works well as an additional treatment for people who are receiving other cosmetic procedures.

There are very few risks involved in BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments. In rare cases there might be swelling or bruising at the injection site. These symptoms will diminish rapidly and will not affect the overall outcome of the procedure. Since the treatment slowly wears off over time, any potential complication would not be permanent.
